Ruland drill stop kits are supplied with seven clamp style shaft collars that allow the user to easily control the depth of drilling. Clamp style shaft collars are superior to set screw styles often supplied in other drill stop kits because they will not mar the drill bit when removed or repositioned, have significantly higher holding power, and are indefinitely adjustable. Ruland drill stop kits contain shaft collars to fit 1/8”, 3/16”, 1/4", 5/16”, 3/8”, 7/8”, and 1/2" drill bits. They also include three hex wrenches of differing size to match the fastening hardware. Since drill stop kits are supplied with standard Ruland shaft collars, if replacement is needed individual shaft collars can be ordered.
Hex keys (or allen wrenches) are used to tighten or loosen fastening hardware. They can be used with Ruland shaft collars and couplings as well as with other standard industrial applications. Ruland hex keys are made of high torque protanium steel that is up to 20% stronger, with more torque and twice the wear resistance of standard grades of steel. Ball End inserts into a screw at a 25° angle, allowing natural hand and wrist movement. Chamfered tips with no burrs or imperfections allow the tool to fit properly and seat fully within the screw head. Custom heat-treating produces tools that are highly resistant to breakage and shattering. Sets come in a plastic carrying case with large labels for organization and quick selection.
Hex sockets and bits are commonly used to tighten or loosen hardware on industrial equipment, shaft collars and couplings, and other machine components. They can be used with Ruland torque wrenches or other non-impact industrial torque wrenches in a variety of applications. Ruland socket bits are available in inch (5/64” – 5/16”) and metric (1.5mm – 8mm) sizes. They are designed to fit 1/4", 3/8", and 1/2" drive sizes. Sockets and bits are manufactured from steel for high durability.
Laminated aluminum shims are designed to aid in the installation of Ruland manufactured zero-backlash jaw couplings. They come with 32 layers that can be peeled off with a knife or other sharp object. Each layer is .002" (.05mm) thick and made of 5052 aluminum for corrosion resistance, rigidity, and durability. Laminated shims ensure proper spacing between the hubs and inserts, allowing couplings to reach their full misalignment capabilities. The shim is simply slid into the space between the hub and insert while the user is tightening coupling hardware to its recommended seating torque and then removed once assembly is complete. All shims are manufactured by Georg Martin GmbH in Germany and are RoHS3 and REACH compliant.
Ruland spanner wrenches are adjustable and feature a hook with nose end that is used to adjust collars, retainer rings, shafts, and bearings. They are an ideal installation tool for use with Ruland bearing locknuts that often require precision installation for use in spindle bearings or other high torque applications. Spanner wrenches are available in high strength steel and stainless steel for corrosive environments in sizes ranging from 20mm-230mm.
Torque wrenches are used to precisely install hardware to a preset torque. They simplify installation, prevent over torquing, and maximize performance in installations where joint tension is critical to component performance, such as a shaft collar or coupling. Operators will either set the wrench to the desired torque or purchase them with a preset torque from Ruland. This ensures proper torque for the application is being applied during hardware installation. We have a large selection of hex sockets and bits to pair with all of our torque wrenches.
All Ruland torque wrenches are manufactured by Seekonk Precision Tools in Massachusetts with a proprietary internal mechanism that ensures hardware can not be over torqued.They come standard with NIST traceable certifications and are made in accordance with Federal Specification MIL-STD-45662A.
Ruland precision torque screwdrivers are pre-set slip type tools that extend torque limiting action into a compact design. We offer chrome plated alloy steel screwdrivers with pre-set torques ranging from 0.50 in-lbs (0.06 Nm) to 3.0 in-lbs (0.34 Nm). They are manufactured by Seekonk Precision Tools in Massachusetts with a proprietary internal mechanism that ensures hardware can not be torqued more than the factory preset. All torque screwdrivers come standard with NIST traceable certifications and are made in accordance with Federal Specification MIL-STD-45662A. Periodic calibration is required depending on frequency of use.
