TranscriptHi, Bobby Watkins from Ruland Manufacturing and welcome to another in our series of technical videos. In today's video we are going to talk about mountable shaft collars. This is a line of collars we came out with a couple years ago to fill the need for collars with pre-capped holes in them for a variety of different applications. One of versions has the typical round OD but it has tapped holes top and bottom. This is a good collar to use if you're mounting a sensor of some type in a linear system. Anywhere you'd need to mount a sensor, a flag... again, pre-drilled holes for an easy solution when you need to mount a sensor or mount a flag. We also have tapped holes with flats and these collars are a good choice if you want to mount a shaft you can come from behind your base plate and attach the base of the collar, drop your shaft in. You can also stack shafts using the collars in tandem and tie the collars together so you can have stacked shafts at right angles or even in line. These collars are available in a vartiety of materials in geometric bores. Like all Ruland shaft collars, they do have a precision reference face which is accurate to .002" TIR perpendicularity and this would be if you wanted to push this collar up against a reference this is a precision face that you would use. And, again, a solution for stacking collars, a solution for mounting flags or sensors, and the specifications and drawings for all of our mountable collars are available at ruland.com.
